Week 5

  •  1. The first thing I found important and interesting about this week's reading is how AI is changing the classrooms but it is changing for the better. I think it is nice that this allows students to learn at their own pace. All students dont learn as well the traditional way.

          2. The second thing I found interesting is in the Blueprint of an AI Bill of Rights they mention how technology, data, as well as automated systems have been used in ways to threaten our rights. Which, I can understand because yes certain websites ask you to if you want to accept cookies but nobody really knows what all that means so they know that people will just click accept and I think that's wrong.

3. The last thing I found interesting is how Shutterstock and Getty have both collaborated with an AI startup to allow users to create their own pictures using text-to-image models. I'm not even sure what this is or means for the near future but I'm interested in seeing the outcome.

  • 1. The first way I can relate to the topics this week is from the reading "Blueprint of an AI Bill of Rights" when it was mentioned that social media data collection has been used to undermine their privacy and track their activity often without knowledge or consent. Everyone that uses social media can relate to this because these apps track everything we do and most of the time we don't know it and we just learned a few years ago this is what they do.
          2. The second way I can relate to this week's topic is everything we use now is an AI, my generation is the generation of the rise of social media and internet changes.

  • One question I have for discussion is do you guys think as technology progresses what other information are these apps going to be able to get from us and is the uses of our data going to worsen?

  1. I also agree that letting students learn at their own pace is a cool thing. Some students don't work as well as others and this lets everyone learn how they need.
